    Vigilance

    Vigilance Unit in Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities is the nodal section for handling all vigilance matters of the Department and vigilance matters of Group ‘A’ Officers of the Autonomous Organizations, Public Sector Undertakings, Statutory Offices under its administrative control.    This unit is headed by a Joint Secretary level Officer, who acts as part time Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the Department.  Besides vigilance set up in the Department, each Autonomous Organizations/Public Sector Undertakings etc. has their own vigilance set up in their respective organizations headed by CVOs/VOs who work in close coordination with the Vigilance Unit of the Department.

    The vigilance functions of the CVO are of wide sweep and includes investigating or causing an investigation to be made into verifiable allegations reported to him, processing investigation reports for advice of  CVC,  issuance of prosecution sanction order under Section 19 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, in CBI cases with consultation with CVC wherever necessary, matters related to maintenance of Annual Property Returns, examination of acquisition and disposal of movable/immovable property reported by officers belonging to All India Services, other Central Group ‘A’ Services and Central Sectt Services in the Department.  Vigilance Division is further responsible for ensuring observance of Vigilance Awareness Week in the Department and Offices under its administrative control.
