About ADIP Scheme
- The ADIP Scheme provides aids and assistive devices to Divyangjan for their empowerment, rehabilitation and independent living
- It is a Central Sector Scheme, operational since 1981 and last revised on 26.09.2024.
- A centralized online platform for certification ensuring nationwide uniformity.
- Assistance is provided through various Implementing Agencies, including ALIMCO, National Institutes, NGOs/VOs, Hospitals, DDRCs and other eligible organisations.
What types of aids and assistive devices are available?
- The Scheme provides various aids and assistive devices, including Hearing Aids, Motorised Tricycles/Wheelchairs, Artificial Limbs/Prostheses/Orthoses, TLM Kits, Smartphones/Magnifiers and other devices as per the comprehensive list.
- Financial assistance: Up to ₹15,000 for aids and assistive devices once in 3 years; up to ₹30,000 for high-end prostheses; and subsidy up to ₹50,000 for motorised tricycles/motorised wheelchairs once in 5 years.
How can Implementing Agencies apply for Grant-in-Aid?
- Government organisations may submit proposals directly to the Department, while NGOs/VOs may apply through the e-Anudaan Portal for Grant-in-Aid under the Scheme.
Who can avail the benefits?
- The beneficiary should have a UDID Card/UDID Enrolment Number with at least 40% disability certificate and Aadhaar/Aadhaar Enrolment Number.
- 100% subsidy: Monthly family income up to ₹22,500
- 50% subsidy: Monthly family income ₹22,501–₹30,000
How can a beneficiary avail the benefits?
- Eligible beneficiaries can approach the nearest Implementing Agency, Pradhan Mantri Divyasha-Vayoshri Kendra (PMD-VK) or submit an online request through the ARJUN Portal
