    Applications/nominations are invited for National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities for the year 2024

    It is for information of General Public that the applications/ nominations for National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, for the year 2024  are now open w.e.f. 15th June, 2024  to 31st July, 2024. The details are as under:

    1. Applications/ Nominations may be filed at www.awards.gov.in.
    2. All Applications/Nominations for the National Awards for the year    2024 receivedupto 31st July, 2024 will be considered.
    • Application for the year 2024 is to be submitted in the on-line portal only on the password protected centralized portal designed by Ministry of Home Affairs. (www.awards.gov.in).  The nomination should contain all relevant details specified in the format available on the above portal including in narrative form clearly bringing out the notable and inspiring achievements Application in physical form will not be accepted.
    1. For eligibility criteria and other details, Guidelines for   National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities available on website of the Department (www.depwd.gov.in)  may be referred.

    INVITING APPLICATIONS THROUGH ‘ONLINE’ FOR NATIONAL AWARDS FOR

    EMPOWERMENT OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES FOR THE YEAR 2024

     

    Applications/nominations are invited for National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities for the year 2024, through online mode only on the password protected centralized portal designed by Ministry of Home Affairs(www.awards.gov.in) which is openw.e.f15th June, 2024. The last date for submission of applications/nominations is 31st July, 2024).

    The nomination should contain all relevant details specified in the format available on the above portal including in narrative form clearly bringing out the notable and inspiring achievements.

    Eligibility criteria and other details are available in the simplified and rationalized Guidelines for National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities available on the web site of the Department (www.depwd.gov.in)  as also on the Award Portal (www.awards.gov.in)

    Nomination/application for these awards in physical form will not be accepted.

    The National Awards and eligibility for each category of award is as under:

     

    1.          National Awards for Individual Excellence.

    2. (ii) ShresthDivyangjan (श्रेष्ठ दिव्यांगजन)

    a. Locomotor Disability – (Locomotor, Muscular Dystrophy, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims,Leprosy Cured, Cerebral Palsy).

    b. Visual Impairment -(Blindness, Low Vision).

    c. Hearing Impairment – (Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Speech & Language disability).

    d. Intellectual Disability – (Mental Retardation, Mental Behavior, Specific Learning Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder).

    e. Any    specified disability except the disabilities           mentioned from S.No. (a) to (d) above.

    (Developmental Disorder, Disability caused due to Blood Disorder, Hemophilia, Thalassemia, Sickle Cell Diseases, Chronic Neurological Conditions, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Disability)

    However, if suitable person(s) in any one or more of these sub-categories are not found, the awards may be given to additional person(s) in other sub-categories.

    (In the fields of employment / self-employment, health/sports, art, culture, drawing, painting, music, or any other type of creative work, empowerment  of persons with disabilities etc.
