About the National Fund for Persons with Disabilities?

A statutory fund constituted under Section 86 of the RPwD Act, 2016, and established as a Trust in 2018 with an objective to provide financial assistance under the Fund for certain core areas relevant for empowerment of persons with disabilities which are not covered under the budgetary support programme of the Government.

Purpose of the National Fund for PwDs ( Divyaangjan).

• financial assistance in the areas which are not specifically covered under any scheme and programme of the Central Government or are not adequately funded under any scheme or programme of the Central Government.
• for the purpose of implementation of the provisions of the Act.
• administrative and other expenses of the Fund, as may be required to be incurred by or under this Act.

Structure of the National Fund.

Who can apply for financial assistance under National Fund?

• Individuals with Benchmark Disability & Individuals with High Support Needs.
• Registered Organizations/ Societies/ Companies/ Trust etc. working in the field of disability.
• Organization must be registered under RPwD Act, 2016.
• Organization must be registered under NGO DARPAN Portal (except Govt. organizations)

How to apply under National Fund ?

Common eligibility conditions:

For Individuals with Benchmark Disabilities/ High Support Needs

• Applicant must have a valid Disability/UDID /High support needs certificate.
• The applicant must not have obtained financial assistance from any other source for the same Purpose.
• The applicant must have complied with the terms & conditions of financial assistance while availed from National Fund on previous occasions.

For Individuals with Benchmark Disabilities/ High Support Needs

• Organization must be registered under Societies Act/Companies Act/Trust Act (except Govt. organizations).
• Organization must be registered under RPwD Act, 2016 (except Govt. organizations)
• The applicant organization must not have obtained financial assistance for the same from any other source.
• An organization that has not received assistance from the National Fund for any project during the preceding one year shall be eligible to apply for assistance for another project.
