Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Rules, 1996
These rules provide guidance for the evaluation and assessment of various disabilities and specify the authorities empowered to issue disability certificates.
The rules also lay down procedures for meetings of the Central Coordination Committee and Central Executive Committee, notification of vacancies to special employment exchanges,
grievance redressal procedures by the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, salary and allowances of the Chief Commissioner, and the method for submitting annual reports.
