    Enthusiastic Participation of Divyangjans in ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’ theme-based events enters Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records

    On the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) organized extensive and inclusive yoga programmes across the country. The theme for this year was ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, promoting holistic health, mental well-being, and social harmony.

    Landmark Mega Yoga Event

    A major event was held at Kanha Shanti Van, Ranga Reddy, Telangana, by NIEPID, Secunderabad, with over 3,400 Divyangjans representing 21 types of disabilities. This gathering entered the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records.

    Dignitaries and Statements

    Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar, Secretary Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, and other dignitaries attended. Dr. Kumar emphasized yoga as a lifestyle and a tool for global harmony inspired by Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

    Other Key Events

    • ALIMCO Headquarters: Yoga session attended by over 1,000 people. Shri B.L. Verma highlighted yoga’s benefits for mental, physical, and emotional health.
    • Kozhikode, Kerala: Dr. Ramdas Athawale participated and underlined yoga’s role in social inclusion.
    • New Delhi: Ministry officials and staff performed yoga guided by instructors.

    National Organizations Participation

    Yoga sessions were held at:

    • National Institute of Social Defence (NISD)
    • National Corporations – NSFDC, NBCFDC, NSKFDC
    • Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial (DANM)
    • Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation
    • Dr. Ambedkar Centres of Excellence (DACE)
    • Garima Grehs across India
    • National Commissions – NCSC and NCSK

    Participation by National Institutes & CRCs under DEPwD

    • SVNIRTAR, Cuttack: Over 1,600 participants in yoga session.
    • ABV Centre, Gwalior: 400+ Divyangjans and trainees participated.
    • PDUNIPPD, New Delhi: 500+ Divyangjans attended dedicated yoga camp.
    • NIEPMD, Chennai: Around 500 attendees including Divyangjans and their families.
    • NILD, Kolkata: Session held with CBC, Ministry of I&B, for students and staff.
    • ISLRTC, New Delhi: Session held at NSIC campus with about 100 participants.

    Yoga Activities at CRCs

    CRCs in Davangere, Tripura, Gorakhpur, Nagpur, Guwahati, Chhatarpur, Jaipur, Sundarnagar, and others celebrated with enthusiasm.

    CRC Davangere: Distributed 30 hearing aids to 15 Divyangjans along with yoga sessions.

    Other CRCs organized awareness and community yoga sessions to promote ‘Yoga for All’.
